Men's Cross Country Takes 6th At Auburn Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men?s cross country team finished in sixth place at the Auburn Invitational on Friday. Thirty-four teams competed in the 8K race. The Spartans entered the Invitational as the 22nd ranked team in the nation according to the MONDO Men?s Cross Country Rankings. Jason Mueller (Shelby, Ohio) was the top Spartan for the second race in a row. He finished 12th overall with a time of 25:02. Ben Evans (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) was the next Spartan as he placed 29th finishing at 25:30. Both Mueller and Evans are freshman. Senior Joe Leo (Northville, Mich.) saw his first action of the season, placing 35th at 25:37. Freshman Jared Aldrich (Corunna, Mich.) finished 39th at 25:42. Princeton captured first place as a team with a team score of 85. The Tigers were followed by Southern Florida (102) and Southern Mississippi (108). Michigan State?s next meet is Oct. 16 at the Pre-NCAA meet in Bloomington, Ind.
