EAST LANSING, MICH. - The Michigan State men?s soccer team (4-4-1, 0-1 Big Ten) lost to Illinois-Chicago (6-3-0), 3-0, Sunday afternoon in Chicago.
The Flames first score came at the 17:19 mark, as Stein Garcia knocked in a rebound to the upper- left corner of the goal. In the second half, Greg Chrisman (56:24) and Bruno Rasich (81:10) each scored for Illinois-Chicago. Eric Lukin assisted on two goals for the Flames.
UIC goalie Chris Jamal had five saves to record his third shutout of the season. Junior Tim Lieckfelt (Sterling Heights, Mich.) and freshman Tyler Robinson (Lansing, Mich.) split time at goalie for MSU, recording one and five saves, respectively.
Michigan State returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 6 to face the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. The game begins at 3:30 p.m. at Old College Field on the MSU campus.
