EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State's men's golf team is in fifth place following the first round of the Northern Intercollegiate at the Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind. The Spartans shot a 303 in round one, seven strokes behind leading Ohio State. The second round was suspended due to darkness and will be played, along with the third and final round, on Saturday.
Senior Carlos Foulquie (Madrid, Spain) starred for the Spartans, earning a share of first place with his even-par 72. He is tied with four other golfers in first place.
Also in the top 10 is sophomore Nathan Clark (Mason, Mich.), who is tied for ninth with a two-over-par 74.
Play continues tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. CDT for the remainder of the second round, followed by the third and final round.
