Education: Read graduated in 2019 with a master’s in sport management from Western Michigan University and a B.B.A. in digital marketing from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2017.

Job Responsibilities: Read oversees the day-to-day operations of Spartan Fund fundraising efforts. This includes high-level analysis of financial data to support decisions making, developing policies, procedures, and strategies aimed at maintaining data integrity and improving business operations, and the oversight of gift and data management, donor relations, and internal business operations.

Past Experience: Prior to arriving at Michigan State, Matt worked for Stanford Athletics as a Human Resources Business Partner and taught at Menlo College. Before moving to California, Matt was a graduate assistant at Western Michigan University, where he taught undergraduate courses and served in the Sports Information Department. Additionally, Matt has held internship positions with the Detroit Tigers, Great Lakes Loons (Single-A L.A. Dodgers affiliate), the University of Michigan-Dearborn Athletic Department, and Dietz Sports & Entertainment.
