2023-24 (Redshirt Senior) 13-19 Overall, 9-10 Open Tournaments, 4-9 Duals: Had a career-high 13 victories and two falls … Began the season going 4-4, went 2-2 at the Clarion Open and MSU Open … Placed third at the Black Knight Invite going 2-1 with a 4-1 victory over Brown’s Johnathan Conrad in the third-place match … Started the dual season going 2-2 with a blazing first period fall against Bloomsburg’s Josh Bonomo at the 1:15 mark, then defeated Buffalo’s Jay Nivison in a low-scoring affair in a 3-2 tiebreaker bout … Pulled off a B1G upset over Indiana’s No. 12-ranked DJ Washington, with the match knotted up at 1-1 late in the third period, Shannon lifted Washington to a single leg before converting a takedown on the edge of the mat as time expired to earn the upset victory, 4-1 … Finished the regular season defeating Central Michigan’s Chandler Amaker in a narrow, 8-5, match … Entered his third B1G Championships as the No. 13-seed and went 2-3 overall on the weekend, highlighted by a 18-2 tech. fall victory over Northwestern’s David Ferrante.
