2006-07 (Junior): Competed in the 174 weight class...Posted a 9-10 overall record and 9-9 NCAA mark...Won three straight matches to place fifth at the Cleveland State Open, including a first-round pin of Findlay[apos]s Richard Gross in nine seconds...Also pinned Dave Hanson from Jamestown Community College in 5:19 and Findlay[apos]s Jeff Havelka in 1:26 en route to the top five finish...Wrestled in three duals, Purdue, Minnesota and Penn State...Defeated Purdue[apos]s Jason Martin 10-3 for solo dual win.
2005-06 (Sophomore): Started the season at 174 pounds, going 9-4 in open competition, before dropping to 165 pounds for five dual meets, going 2-3...Missed the last month of the season to injury...Defeated nationally-ranked Justin Nestor of Pittsburgh, 7-5, in his first dual meet of the season...Also defeated NCAA qualifier Dan Bedoy, 5-3 in sudden victory, in a dual with Purdue Feb. 3...Took fifth at the MSU Open, winning five-consecutive matches and finishing with a 5-2 record...Notched a technical fall in his first match of the season, 18-2, against Brandon Gaskins of Findlay.
2004-05 (RS Freshman): Went 9-14, wrestling at 165, 174, and 184 pounds...Won three-straight matches at both the North Carolina Open and the MSU Open, falling just short of placing in both tournaments...Also competed at the EMU Open and Midlands Championships...Made his first-career appearance in a dual meet on Dec. 8 against Central Michigan.
2003-04 (Redshirt): Redshirted...Finished 2-4 in open competition...Recorded the first pin of his career his second match of the year.
PREP: Also lettered in football and baseball...Was a co-captain of St. Charles[apos] football team in [apos]01 and [apos]02 and captain of wrestling team in [apos]02 and [apos]03...A four-time all-league, all-district and all-state wrestling honoree...Compiled overall high school record of 212-16...Went undefeated at 152 pounds in his sophomore season and 54-1 at the same weight the following year...Senior year finished 55-1 at 160 pounds...Competed at 2002 junior nationals in Fargo, N.D....Two-time all-league middle linebacker in football.
