Men’s Basketball Announces Complete Schedule for 2026-27 Season

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's basketball complete schedule for the 2026-27 season was announced on Monday, including all non-conference matchups.
Times and television for the season will be announced at a later date.
Michigan State will open the season with an exhibition game on Friday, Oct. 2 against the University of Incarnate Word, leading into the annual Izzone Campout.
The Spartans will play three exhibition games ahead of the season, including hosting Big East member UConn on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Following that game, MSU will play an exhibition on Sunday, Oct. 25 at Marquette.
The 2026-27 regular season opens on Monday, Nov. 2, with the Spartans hosting Quinnipiac, the preseason pick to win the Metro Conference.
Big Ten Conference play starts on Wednesday, Dec. 2, with the Spartans hosting Minnesota. MSU plays its first conference road game on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Maryland.
MSU will play both home and away against Maryland, Michigan and Nebraska.
Big Ten opponents to visit the Breslin Center include Minnesota, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Washington and Wisconsin.
The Spartans will visit Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Northwestern, Ohio State, UCLA and USC.
Michigan State finished the 2025-26 season with a 27-8 overall record, including a 15-5 record in the Big Ten Conference. The Spartans earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the 17th time under Head Coach Tom Izzo.
