EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State men's golf seniors Caleb Bond and Ashton McCulloch were selected to play as individuals in the NCAA Columbus Regional on Wednesday afternoon, announced on The Golf Channel.
Bond and McCulloch will play in the NCAA Columbus Regional, hosted by Ohio State at the OSU Golf Club from Monday, May 18 to Wednesday, May 20. The NCAA Columbus Regional is one of six regionals nationally and includes 71 teams and 45 individuals.
The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals. Team and individual medalist titles will be decided between May 29 and June 3 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
McCulloch, the team's top finisher five of six events, carried a 70.65 scoring average during 17 rounds in the spring. Overall he is second on the team with a 71.00 scoring average and has three top-5 finishes, five in the top-10 and eight in the top-20. McCulloch's 71.00 scoring average is a career best and is currently the second-best mark in a single-season at MSU. For his career, McCulloch holds the school record for career scoring average at 71.47.
Bond, who transferred last year from Ferris State, leads the team with a 70.71 scoring average, the best mark in program history. Bond has 10 top-20 finishes this year and has led the four times this season, including a tie for ninth place at 5-under par 211 in the Robert Kepler Collegiate.
This marks the 10th-straight years the Spartans have been represented in an NCAA Regional, with team appearances from 2016-19 and 2022-25 and individuals reaching a regional in 2021 (James Piot) and now in 2026.
