Women’s Golf Finishes First Two Rounds at Buckeye Invitational

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's women's golf team is tied for fourth among 14 teams after the first day of play at the Buckeye Invitational, being played on the Scarlet Course on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament (par-72, 6,319-yards) concludes on Saturday.
MSU posted a two-round score of 25-over par 601 (299-302) to tie for fourth place with Indiana.
Host Ohio State leads the field at 13-over par 589 (295-294), with Kent State in second place at 16-over par 592 and Iowa State in third place at 17-over par 593.
Freshman Sarisa Pojanalai leads the Spartans with a score of 3-over par 147, posting rounds of 3-over par 75 and even-par 72 in the second round.
A trio of players are tied for 22nd place at 8-over par 152. Junior Ana Sofia finished with rounds of even-par 72 and an 8-over par 80 in the afternoon, senior Paula Balanzategui shot rounds of 3-over par 75 and 5-over par 77 and freshman Lucia Valderrama shot a 5-over par 77 in the morning and followed that with a 3-over pr 75 in the afternoon.
Senior Taylor Kehoe is tied for 37th place at 12-over par 156 (78-78).
The Spartans tee off from the fifth hole starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, playing alongside Indiana and Harvard.
