No. 10 Michigan State Falls on the Road to Wisconsin

Madison, Wis. – No. 10 Michigan State fell behind early and could not recover as Wisconsin beat the Spartans, 92-71, at the Kohl Center Friday night.
Junior forward Coen Carr scored 19 points to lead the Spartans, while redshirt sophomore guard Jeremy Fears Jr. had a double-double with 14 points and 12 assists, sophomore guard Kur Teng added 12 points off the bench and freshman forward Jordan Scott had 11 points and four rebounds.

Michigan State falls to 20-5 overall and 10-4 in the Big Ten Conference, while Wisconsin improves to 18-7 overall and 10-4 in league play.

- Michigan State fell behind by 17 points (51-34) at halftime and never led in the game as the Badgers led by as many as 24 points (78-54) in the second half.
- A jumper from senior center Carson Cooper to open the second half cut the Wisconsin lead to 51-36 and a 3-pointer from senior forward Jaxon Kohler made it 59-43 with 15:26 but MSU would not get closer than 16 points the rest of the way.

- Three free throws from Fears with 4:14 to play pulled MSU to within 39-30, but the Badgers outscored the Spartans, 12-4, to push the gap to 17 points at the break.
