This Week In Spartan Athletics – February 10
Here's a look at the week ahead (February 10-16) for Michigan State Athletics:
Women's Basketball
No. 13 Michigan State faces two Top 10 teams this week. Wednesday, the Spartans host No. 2 UCLA at 8 p.m. (Peacock). Sunday, MSU is on the road at No. 7 Michigan (4 p.m., FS1) for the second meeting against the Wolverines in two weeks.
Women's Gymnastics
No. 11 Michigan State is back at home in Jenison Field House, hosting No. 24 Maryland and Western Michigan on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Spartans have moved up to No. 10 nationally on the vault and No. 9 on beam.
Baseball
Michigan State baseball opens the 2026 season with a three-game series at Louisville Friday-Sunday. The Cardinals are ranked No. 8 in the D1Baseball.com Top 25 preseason poll and are coming off an appearance in the 2025 College World Series. This year marks the 18th season for head coach Jake Boss.
Softball
After a strong 4-1 showing in the opening weekend of the season, softball is back on the road, traveling to Charlotte, North Carolina. The Spartans will play five games in the Queen City, facing Virginia Tech and Charlotte on Friday, Villanova and Charlotte on Saturday and Virginia Tech on Sunday. MSU is receiving votes in multiple national Top 25 polls.
Men's Basketball
No. 10 Michigan State travels to Wisconsin for its lone contest of the week (8 p.m., FOX). The Spartans are on the heels of an 85-82 overtime victory over then-No. 5 Illinois.
Track & Field
It's a busy weekend for the Spartans as the team is split among two different two-day meets. Some team members will compete at the Heartland Invitational Friday and Saturday, while others will travel to Massachusetts for a meet hosted by Boston University. Last weekend, the Spartans collected six first-place finishes at the Michigan Invitational.
Wrestling
Michigan State closes out Big Ten competition with a pair of duals. Friday, the Spartans are at home to host No. 14 Rutgers (6:30 p.m.). Sunday, MSU is on the road at No. 9 Minnesota.
Women's Tennis
Michigan State heads east for a pair of duals against Ivy League opponents. The Spartans face Princeton on Friday, followed by a Saturday contest against Columbia.
Men's Tennis
Michigan State is on the road for a single dual this weekend, traveling to Nashville to face Vanderbilt on Sunday.
Women's Golf
Michigan State will compete Sunday and Monday at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational at Palm Aire Champions Course in Sarasota.
