Here's a look at the week ahead (September 2-8) for Michigan State Athletics:
Volleyball
After opening the season with a pair of home wins, the Spartans will be away from home for the next five contests. That stretch begins with a pair of matches in Evansville, Indiana, where MSU will face Evansville on Wednesday, followed by a Thursday contest vs. Southern Indiana. Monday, the Spartans will be in Kalamazoo to play at Western Michigan.
Women's Soccer
Michigan State closes the non-conference portion of its schedule with a Thursday night showdown against Notre Dame in DeMartin Stadium. The game will air live on Big Ten Network at 7:30 p.m.
Men's Soccer
The Spartans play two non-conference contests in the final tune-up prior to the start of Big Ten play. Friday, MSU is at Bowling Green. Monday, MSU is back home at DeMartin Stadium, hosting Oakland (7 p.m.). This past Monday, head coach Damon Rensing notched the 150th victory of his Spartan coaching career.
Field Hockey
Michigan State will host Bellarmine Friday afternoon (3 p.m.) in the home opener for the Spartans. MSU opened the year by splitting a pair of contests, including a 5-0 victory over Ohio last Saturday.
Football
Michigan State football is back under the lights on Saturday, hosting Boston College at Spartan Stadium at 7:30 p.m. NBC will televise the contest. The Spartans look to build on the momentum of a 23-6 victory over Western Michigan in last Friday night's opener. MSU's defense did not allow a single point in the victory.
Men's Golf
The Michigan State men's golf program will play in the Folds of Honor Collegiate for the fourth straight year, running Monday, Sept. 8 – Wednesday, Sept. 10 at American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan. The tournament supports the Folds of Honor non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of US military service members and first responders who have fallen or been disabled while serving our country and communities. In its opening tournament, MSU posted the fourth-lowest 54-hole score in program history, while junior McCoy Biagioli tied for third as an individual, as his 201 tied for the second-lowest 54-hole tournament score in program history.

Michigan State women's golf opens the 2025-26 season at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, marking the second-straight year the women's tournament has been contested. The Spartans are ranked No. 22 in the Golfweek preseason rankings.
