Spartan Women’s Basketball Announces 2025-26 Schedule

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's basketball head coach Robyn Fralick announced the 2025-26 schedule on Thursday in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference. Once again, the Spartans' women's basketball season is presented by MSUFCU.
Michigan State will play 16 games at the friendly confines of the Breslin Center, beginning with an exhibition against Michigan Tech on Oct. 22. Last season, MSU was 13-2 at home.
For the fifth-straight season, the Big Ten Conference will play an 18-game schedule. MSU also played an 18-game schedule in both 2018-19 and 2019-20. The conference additionally had 18-game schedules in both 2015-16 and 2014-15.
The Spartans will face a maximum of 12 opponents that competed in the NCAA Tournament last season, as MSU will possibly play Ole Miss in the Cherokee Invitational. From the Big Ten portion of the schedule, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington reached the NCAA Tournament, including the Bruins advancing to the Final Four.
Michigan State opens the regular season with six-straight home games, beginning on Nov. 4 against Mercyhurst. MSU will then host Eastern Michigan (Nov. 9), Youngstown State (Nov. 12), Western Michigan (Nov. 16) and Eastern Illinois (Nov. 20). The Spartans will conclude their six-game home stretch against Oakland on Nov. 23.
Over the Thanksgiving break, MSU will take on Temple on Nov. 28 to open the Baha Mar Hoops in Nassau, the Bahamas. MSU will end the tournament against either Clemson or Western Carolina on Nov. 30.
As the calendar changes to December, the Spartans will play their only true road game at DePaul on Dec. 7. Before the holiday break, MSU will head South for the Cherokee Invitational. This is the Spartans second time at the Invitational, taking home the title during the 2023-24 season. Michigan State will face Indiana State to open the tournament on Dec. 21 and play either Old Dominion or Ole Miss on Dec. 22. The Spartans open Big Ten play hosting Rutgers on Dec. 28.
To begin the 2026 portion of the season, the Spartans open the season at Indiana (Jan.1), before hosting Illinois (Jan. 4). MSU heads West to face Washington (Jan. 8) and Oregon (Jan. 11). The Green and White finally return home to East Lansing to host Nebraska (Jan. 15), before traveling to Iowa (Jan. 18). The Spartans end the month at home against USC (Jan. 22) and on the road against Purdue (Jan. 29).
In February, Michigan State starts with a pair of home games against in-state rival Michigan (Feb. 1) and Maryland (Feb. 4). The Spartans travel to Penn State (Feb. 7) before returning home to take on UCLA (Feb. 11). Michigan State will travel to Michigan on Feb. 15 before facing Northwestern on Feb. 18. The Spartans' final regular-season road game is at Minnesota (Feb. 22).
Michigan State will end its regular-season finale against Ohio State on March 1. The 33rd Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament will return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis March 4-8.
