Women's Soccer
Back on the pitch after two-straight wins, including a DeMartin Stadium record nine goals in a win over Milwaukee on Sunday, No. 17 Michigan State hosts Buffalo on Thursday (Aug. 28) at 7 p.m. It is also Youth Soccer Day, with all local youth players getting in free by wearing their team jersey. The Spartans play their second road game of the season over the weekend, visiting Xavier on Sunday, Aug. 31 (1 p.m.).
Cross Country
Michigan State's men's and women's cross country teams open the 2025 season at the 40th Annual Jeff Drenth Memorial, hosted by Central Michigan University in Shepherd, Mich. Freshman Rachel Forsyth and sophomore Moses Osterink were selected as Runners to Watch by the Big Ten Conference.
Field Hockey
Under the guidance of 15th-year Head Coach Helen Knull, Michigan State opens its 2025 season on the road, traveling to play at Louisville on Friday, Aug. 29 (noon). The Spartans continue their weekend on Saturday, Aug. 30, playing Ohio University at 11 a.m. in Kentucky.
Football
Michigan State football kicks off its 2025 season on Friday, Aug. 29 with a 7 p.m. kickoff against in-state rival Western Michigan. It is Stripe the Stadium Night, with even sections wearing Green and odd & student sections wearing White.
Volleyball
First-year head coach Kristen Kelsay and the Spartans open the 2025 regular season with a pair of matches at home this weekend. MSU will host Merrimack on Saturday, Aug. 30 (6 p.m.) at the Breslin Center and closes out the weekend against Chicago State on Sunday, Aug. 31 (2 p.m.).

The Spartans return home to host Detroit Mercy for a Labor Day afternoon meeting (2 p.m.) with Detroit Mercy on Monday, Sept 1. It is Youth & Family Day and there will be a post-game meet & greet with the team.
Men's Golf
The Spartans open the 2025-26 season at the Island Resort Collegiate at Sage Run Golf Course in Bark River, Mich. The two-day, 54-hole tournament, which will be hosted by South Dakota State starts with 36 holes on Sunday, Aug. 31 and concludes on Monday, Sept. 1.
