Six Spartans Earn All-Big Ten Gymnastics Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Six Michigan State gymnasts were named to 2025 Women's Gymnastics All-Big Ten teams, the conference announced Monday afternoon.Â
MSU earned a total of four first-team selections for the third-straight season – seniors Skyla Schulte and Gabrielle Stephen and juniors Sage Kellerman and Nikki Smith – tying UCLA for the most first-team nods, while fifth-year senior Delanie Harkness and junior Olivia Zsarmani were named Second Team All-Big Ten.Â
With Monday's first team selections, Schulte and Stephen become the first gymnasts in program history to earn four First Team All-Big Ten honors, surpassing current MSU associate head coach Nicole (Curler) Jones' record of three. Smith collects her third career First Team All-Big Ten award, while Kellerman earns her second and Zsarmani is a first-time all-conference honoree. Harkness garners her fourth overall all-conference nod after being named to the second team in 2022 and 2024 and the first team in 2023.Â
Schulte, a native of Bolingbrook, Illinois, has competed on beam and floor this season, appearing in eight beam lineups and nine floor lineups. She has scored a 9.900 or better on floor in all but one routine, including a current streak of six straight. Schulte holds a national qualifying score (NQS) of 9.985 on beam and 9.915 on floor and ranks in the top 30 nationally on both events. She has earned two beam titles this season and a team-high six floor titles.Â
Smith earns her third-career First Team All-Big Ten honor after competing in the all-around in every meet for the Spartans this season. Her NQS of 39.435 ranks 23rd nationally, while the junior also sits in a tie for fourth in the NCAA on vault with a 9.935 NQS. The West Bloomfield, Michigan, native holds season highs of 9.950 on vault and bars and 9.925 on beam and floor. She leads all MSU gymnasts in total event titles this season with 20, including a team-high six on vault. Smith is a three-time Big Ten Gymnast of the Week selection this season.Â
Stephen, who hails from Elgin, Illinois, has joined Smith in the all-around in every meet in 2025 and sits in a tie with her teammate for 23rd in the country with a 39.435 NQS. She has collected 11 event titles this season and holds season highs of 9.900 on vault and floor, 9.925 on bars, 9.950 on beam and 39.550 in the all-around. She was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week on Feb. 25 this season.Â
Kellerman collects her second-consecutive first team selection after competing in every vault and bars lineup for MSU this season. One of the most dynamic two-event specialists in the country, the Croswell, Michigan native has gone 9.900 or better seven times on bars and six times on vault this season. She ranks in the top 15 nationally on both events, sitting at No. 8 on vault (9.920 NQS) and No. 12 on bars (9.925), and has won four vault titles and a team-high seven bars titles.Â
Harkness, a native of Leslie, Michigan, becomes a four-time All-Big Ten honoree as staple in the MSU bars and floor lineups this season. She holds a season high of 9.900 on both events, competing in all 11 meets for MSU in both lineups. The fifth-year senior ranks in the top 25 in the conference on bars and floor with national qualifying scores of 9.870 and 9.860, respectively.Â
Zsarmani, a junior out of Statesville, North Carolina, is a first-time All-B1G selection. She has appeared in 10 vault and bars lineups this season and made six beam appearances and a pair of floor and all-around appearances. Zsarmani ranks sixth in the conference on vault with a 9.890 NQS and season-high 9.950 and holds an NQS of 9.840 on bars. She is also MSU's recipient of this year's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, given to one student-athlete from each school who has distinguished themselves through sportsmanship, ethical behavior and demonstrates good citizenship outside of the competition field.Â
MSU travels to Ann Arbor, Michigan, for the 2025 Big Ten Championships on Saturday, March 22 at the Crisler Center. The No. 2-seeded Spartans will take on No. 1 UCLA, No. 3 Minnesota and No. 4 Michigan in the third and final session at 5 p.m.Â
