
Henning Named B1G Keeper of the Week

East Lansing, Mich. --Â Michigan State freshman keeper Noelle Henning (Milton, Ontario) has been named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week, as released on Tuesday, Oct. 21 by the Big Ten Office.Â

Henning backstopped the Spartans to a pair of home victories last week, with four saves in each game. On Thursday, she made four saves vs. Indiana, posting her fifth overall shutout of the season and fourth in Big Ten play. On Sunday, she made four saves and helped MSU down (RV) Indiana as MSU secured a top-five seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.Â

This is the second time this year that Henning has earned weekly honors from the Conference – she was the Freshman of the Week after a pair of wins at Minnesota (2-1) and Wisconsin (6-0) in on Sept. 30.

The freshman has started 13 MSU games, and owns a 1.44 GAA and .719 save percentage. Her five shutouts ranks in a tie for seventh in the Big Ten. In Conference games only, her four shutouts are fifth, her 1.00 GAA is sixth, and .786 save percentage rank seventh. Henning's 3.67 saves per game in Conference action is 10th among B1G keepers.Â

Henning and the Spartans head to Lincoln, Nebraska for the regular-season finale vs the Huskers on Sunday (1 pm ET/12 pm CT).Â
