Get to know new Spartan freshman wrestler Skyler Crespo
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling will feature a newcomer periodically throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2020-21 season.
This week freshman Skyler Crespo (Three Rivers, Michigan / Mendon High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?Â
I chose to wrestle at Michigan State because the family we have here as a team, and to be able to wrestle in the hardest conference in the country, the Big Ten.
2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?Â
I am excited to get better every single day in the college room and take my skills to a whole new level.
3. When did you first start wrestling?Â
I first started wrestling when I was 9 years old.
4. Favorite wrestling memory?Â
My favorite wrestling memory is winning my fourth state title, something I have dreamed about my whole life.
5. What's your major at Michigan State and why?Â
My major is Business because it has always intrigued me and I feel I will flourish in the business world.Â
6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?Â
My father has taught me the most about wrestling growing up. Without having any wrestling knowledge he taught me to always work my hardest for the things I want in the sport and in life.
7. What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?Â
My superpower would be telepathy so I can read others minds.
8. Favorite meal?Â
Pizza
9. Favorite TV show?Â
Sportscenter
10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Playing video games
