Get to know new Spartan freshman wrestler James Fotis
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling will feature a newcomer periodically throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2020-21 season.
This week freshman James Fotis (Ada, Michigan / Lowell High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
Close to home and good community.
2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
Competing as a Spartan
3. When did you first start wrestling?
6th grade
4. Favorite wrestling memory?
Winning the high school team state championship.
5. What's your major at Michigan State and why?
Biochemistry and molecular biology. I hope to get into dental school or medical school.
6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
My high school coach R.J. Boudro
7. What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
Breath underwater and Aqua powers
8. Favorite meal?
Sushi
9. Favorite TV show?
Don't really have one
10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Fly fishing and surfing
