
Wrestling Falters on Day Two of South Beach Duals

EAST LANSING, Mich. --Â The Michigan State wrestling program wrapped up competition at the South Beach Duals on Sunday, December 30, falling twice on the day. MSU fell to No. 18-ranked Wyoming in the morning session by a final score of 20-13 before being defeated by Kent State in the afternoon, 18-17. The Spartans fell in six individual bouts by one point during the day.
Sophomore Rayvon Foley and redshirt sophomore Jake Tucker each went a perfect 2-0 on the day for MSU and each earned bonus points in one of their two bouts. No. 9-ranked Foley improved to 19-1 on the season and 6-0 in dual meets with a pair of wins on Sunday.
Redshirt freshman Cameron Caffey improved to 16-0 following his 10-4 decision over Wyoming's Looney, but suffered his first loss of the season in the afternoon against Kent State's Andrew McNally.
Splitting the two duals for MSU were redshirt senior Austin Eicher, redshirt sophomore Drew Hughes and redshirt freshman Brad Wilton. Redshirt sophomore Christian Rebottaro went 1-0 on the day and 2-0 for the weekend with a 9-2 decision over Kent State's Spencer Berthhold in the afternoon session.
