Meet the Spartans: Warren Stanfield III

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling will feature a freshman periodically throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2017-18 season.
This week freshman Warren Stanfield III (Walled Lake, Michigan/Walled Lake Central High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
I decided to come to Michigan State University because it has always been a dream of mine's and wrestling for this premiere team is an outstanding opportunity.
2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
Rooming with Big Kevin aka Big Country is what I am most excited about and taking my academic and athletic career to the next level.
3. When did you first start wrestling?
I started wrestling in the 7th grade.
4. Favorite wrestling memory?
My favorite wrestling memory is getting locked in the bathroom at the state meet and my good friend Ben Freeman getting me out.
5. What's your major at Michigan State and why?
I am majoring in Political Science at MSU so that I can change the city of Highland Park, where I am originally from.
6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
My coaches Al Freeman and Kurt Kinjorski.
7. What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
If I was a superhero I would be "Jello Man" and have the ability to turn anyone into jello. They would be like putty in my hands.
8. Favorite meal?
My favorite meal is shrimp prepared by Floods Restaurant.
9. Favorite TV show?
Reba
10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Work hard and overcome obstacles
