Michigan State's four freshmen all scored in double figures and it was the first time in the Izzo era that MSU has had four freshmen score 10 or more points in the same game.
Miles Bridges led all scorers with 16 points to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds. It was Bridges eighth consecutive double-digit scoring effort and his fifth double-double of the season. MSU is 4-1 when Bridges registers a double-double.
The Spartans out-rebounded Iowa, 46-32, and it was the most rebounds MSU has had in a Big Ten game this season. 14 of those rebounds came on the offensive glass, matching a season high, leading to an 18-11 advantage in second chance points.
Kenny Goins grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds and it was the most rebounds he's had in a conference game in his career. It was just the second time this season that MSU had two players with double figure rebounds, with the other coming against St. John's (11/23).
MSU held Iowa to 32.8% (21-64) shooting from the floor, the lowest by a conference opponent this season, marking the sixth Big Ten team the Spartans have held below 40 percent shooting in a game.
Michigan State assisted on 24 of its 29 made baskets, while nine different Spartans recorded an assist, led by Cassius Winston's five.
Iowa's Peter Jok led the Big Ten in scoring (20.9 ppg) entering Saturday's contest, and MSU held Jok to 13 points on just 2-of-11 shooting from the floor.
