Three Spartans Earn WGCA All-America Scholar Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State women's golfers Alison Knowles, Katie Sharp and Gabby Yurik have been named to the 2015-16 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-America Scholar Division I Team.
The WGCA All-American Scholars were announced Tuesday, July 5 with a total of 828 women's collegiate golfers recognized with the prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
Alison Knowles graduated this spring with a degree in kinesiology and finished with a 3.97 GPA. Fellow senior Gabby Yurik had a 3.78 GPA and earned a degree in supply chain management. Redshirt sophomore Katie Sharp completed the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.62 while pursuing a degree in media and information.
All three athletes earn All-America Scholar honors for the second year in a row after being recognized by the WGCA for their academic achievements in 2015.
Under head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll, Spartan women's golfers have been named WGCA Scholar All-Americans on 36 occasions.
