No. 23 Spartans Continue Action at Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES, Calif. â€" The No. 23 Michigan State women's golf team shot a 30-over-par 314 in the second round of the Regional Challenge on Monday at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. The Spartans are in 15th place with a 36-hole total of 623 (309-314).
Sophomore Sarah Burnham led MSU for the second day in a row with a 76 (+5). She had two birdies in her round and owns a team-best six for the tournament. Overall, Burnham is tied for 35th place at 8-over (74-76—150).
For the second straight round, freshman Carolyn Markley and senior Alison Knowles carded the same score with a 79, a day after shooting 77. The pair are tied for 51st at 156 (+14).
Senior Gabby Yurik shot an 80 and is at 161 through 36 holes.
No. 11 Alabama and No. 14 Washington lead the elite field, which features 10 teams in the Golfstat Top 25, with a 573.
The third and final round of the Regional Challenge is set for Tuesday; live scoring is available at golfstat.com. A shotgun start will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET.
