Meet the Spartans: Matt Santos

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State wrestling team will feature a freshman each week in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2016-17 season.
This week freshman Matt Santos (Saginaw, Mich./Swan Valley High School) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?
Great school and coaching. I want to be part of the class that changes MSU wrestling for the best.
What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
To wrestle of course. Winning. Getting on that podium!
When did you first start wrestling?
Four.
Favorite wrestling memory?
Winning my state title.
What's your major at Michigan State and why?
Kinesiology, there's a lot of career options off my major and it is around sports still. I also will like to help others when I become a PT.
Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
Probably my high school coaches. My assistant coach helped me the most. He worked with me in the off season, drilling with me and showing me better techniques.
What superhero power would you have if you could choose one?
Speed
Favorite meal?
Alfredo
Favorite TV show?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
Probably swimming.
