Spartans Tied for 14th at Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. â€" The Michigan State women's golf team is tied for 14th place at the Mason Rudolph Championship after shooting a 299 in Saturday's second round at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. The Spartans own a 36-hole total of 594 (295-299).
Sophomore Sarah Burnham led the Spartans on Saturday with a 1-under 71 and is tied for 29th place at 1-over 145 (74-71). Burnham recorded two eagles on par 5s (holes No. 6 and 14) and also had a birdie on the par-5 18th.
True freshman Carolyn Markley is tied for 44th place with a 4-over 148. After shooting the low round for the Spartans on Friday with a 1-over 73, Markley delivered another solid round on Saturday with a 3-over 75, the second lowest of the day for MSU.
Gabby Yurik (74-77—151) and Katie Sharp (75-76—151) are both tied for 61st at 7-over 151. Alison Knowles is in 74th place with a 10-over 154 (74-80).
The Spartans will tee off at 9:20 a.m. EDT from hole 10 in Sunday's third and final round, along with South Carolina and UCF. Live scoring will be available at birdiefire.com.
Georgia leads the 17-team tournament through 36 holes with a 561.
