EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State senior guard Denzel Valentine will miss 2-3 weeks after undergoing a mild arthroscopic procedure on his left knee Monday morning. The surgery cleaned up some loose cartilage after Valentine pulled himself out of Sunday afternoon's practice.
Valentine has emerged as a frontrunner for National Player of the Year honors during the non-conference portion of MSU's schedule. He is the only player in the nation to average 18 points (18.5 ppg), seven rebounds (8.3 rpg) and seven assists (7.1 apg) on the season. In fact, he is the only Division I player to average those numbers since 1995-96.
