
Spartans Well Represented at Michigan PGA Women's Open

THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. - The Michigan State women's golf program was well represented at this week's (June 23-25) Michigan PGA Women's Open at Crystal Mountain Resort.
Recent graduate and Alderton Award winner Allyssa Ferrell placed fourth with a 5-under-par 211 after shooting a final round of 70 (-2) in Wednesday's final round. Ferrell won the Wisconsin State Women's Open last week.
MSU assistant coach Aimee Neff also placed in the top 10 by tying for sixth with a 2-under 214 (70-71-73).
Current Spartan Lindsey McPherson had a strong showing, finishing second among amateurs and 11th overall after firing an even-par 216 (71-75-70). Rising sophomore Gabby Yurik also landed in the top 20 and tied for seventh among amateurs with a 6-over 222 (70-75-77).
Liz Nagel, who just completed her Spartan career, tied for 20th place by also shooting a 222.
Other current Spartans who competed included Trisha Witherby (tied for 33rd at 228) and Mariah Massa (placed 54th at 242).
MSU head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll tied for 42nd with a 234.
