
Women's Soccer Closes Season With Loss at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Michigan State women's soccer team played its final match of the 2014 season on Friday evening in Bloomington, falling 2-0 to Indiana. MSU finished the season 9-9-1 overall and 3-9-1 in the Big Ten.
Michigan State opened the match with a shot from Jamie Cheslik in the fourth minute of play. Megan Marsack also tallied a shot for the Green and White before Indiana responded with the first goal of the match.
In the 27th minute, Kayla Smith scored her third goal of the season from Jodan Woolums, giving Indiana a 1-0 lead. Senior goalkeeper Courtney Clem had three saves in the first half and MSU totaled four shots.
The Spartans opened the second half swinging with a shot from Marsack in the 46th minute. Clem tallied an additional five saves before Indiana scored off a penalty kick from Abby Smith in the 85th minute, bringing Indiana's lead to 2-0.
Michigan State closed the final match of the season with nine shots.
In here final outing for the Green and White, Clem made eight saves.
