EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team will begin their 2014 spring schedule Jan. 19 against Toledo and Detroit. In an attempt to "Meet the Spartans," msuspartans.com will feature a student-athlete every week leading up to and then continuing throughout the season. Junior Hilary Hager (Frisco, Texas) is featured this week. Hager posted a 1-3 singles record during the fall schedule.

Favorite part about your hometown: Our high school mascot was a raccoon
Reason for coming to MSU: I came up here a lot when I was younger, my dad went to school here. I've got family here.
Post-school plans: I have no idea. Probably going to move back to Texas.
How long have you been playing tennis: 11 years
Favorite meal: Pizza
Favorite movie: The Back to the Future Trilogy
Favorite TV show as a kid: "Johnny Bravo" and "Powderpuff Girls"

Nicknames: Lumberjack and Sledgehammer. Lumberjack because I wear plaid shirts a lot and sledgehammer is from my freshman year because my doubles partner was ice pick and I was sledgehammer.
Hidden talent: I can juggle
Biggest fear: Drowning, that would be pretty awful
Pregame meal: Bagel and an apple
