EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team will begin its 2014 spring schedule Jan. 19 against Toledo and Detroit. In an attempt to "Meet the Spartans," msuspartans.com will feature a student-athlete every week leading up to and then continuing throughout the season. Sophomore Emily Meyers (Naperville, Ill.) is featured this week. Meyers tallied a 6-3 singles record during the fall schedule. She ended the fall on a three-game winning streak and won four of her last five. She also teamed with junior Julianne Gruber to tally a 4-2 doubles mark. Meyers and Gruber advanced to the round of 32 at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships.
