
Women's Tennis Announces Two for Class of 2013

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's tennis head coach Simone Jardim announced two more student-athletes who will join the team this fall. Erin Faulkner (Raleigh, N.C.) and Anna Zelechonok (Northbrook, Ill.) will join two other incoming student-athletes, bringing the class to 4 newcomers.
Anna Zelechonok - Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North High School
Before MSU: Competed under head coach Bill Heiser on Glenbrook North High School varsity tennis for four years...Named a three-star recruit on tennisrecruiting.com...Owns a career-high national ranking of No. 239...Currently holds the No. 19 ranking of seniors in Illinois...Sits at No. 45 for seniors in the Midwest...Named all-conference 2009-12...Three-time all-state selection (2010-12)...Selected as team captain in 2012...Conference champion at the first slot in doubles 2010-12...Competed in quarterfinals for state championship in 2010 and 2012...Member of Glenbrook North Conference Championship team in 2009 and 2012.
Personal: Born Oct. 30, 1994 to Yury and Svetlana Zelechonok in Illinois...Member of National Honors Society...Plans on majoring in chemistry.

Before MSU: Two-time International Tennis Federation doubles finalist in 2012...Tallied a record of 24-8 in singles play this season and 15-2 in doubles matches...Won Bullfrog Doubles Title 2 in 2012...Compiled singles title in Southern Level 3 in 2011 and 2012...Named ITF Singles Semifinal in 2012...Earned Southern Closed Doubles Title in 2012.
