EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team will begin their 2014 spring schedule in just over a month. In an attempt to "Meet the Spartans," msuspartans.com will feature a student-athlete every week leading up to and then continuing throughout the season. Junior Julianne Gruber (Palm Harbor, Fla.) is featured this week. Gruber posted a 4-3 singles and a 4-2 doubles record during the 2013 fall schedule. She teamed with sophomore Emily Meyers to advance to the round of 32 at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship. During her sophomore campaign, she tallied a singles record of 6-2 and a doubles record of 15-7.

Reason for coming to MSU: Besides playing tennis, I wanted to go somewhere in the Big Ten because I thought it was a good conference. I wanted to leave where I lived and try something new.
Post-school plans: I think I'm going to go back to Florida. I'm not 100 percent sure on what my career is going to be, but my major is HDFS.
