Women's Golf in Fifth Place at Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Michigan State women's golf team moved up to fifth place at the Mason Rudolph Championship after shooting a 294 in the second round on Saturday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. The Spartans own a two-round total of 596 (302-294) and are 12 shots behind leader Arizona.
The 15-team field features six teams ranked in the Golfworld/National Golf Coaches Association Preseason Top 25, including eighth-ranked and host Vanderbilt.
After sharing the individual lead on Friday with a 1-under 71, senior Caroline Powers is now tied for seventh place after carding a 75 on Saturday. Powers, who is at 2-over for the tournament with a 146, trails leader Kendall Prince of Arizona by only three shots entering Sunday's final round.
Junior Allyssa Ferrell led the Spartans in the second round with a 1-under 71 and is at 4-over for the tournament with a 148 (77-71) to sit in a tie for 14th.
Trisha Witherby (75-77) and Liz Nagel (79-73) are both tied for 28th at 152, while Christine Meier is tied for 42nd with a 155 (80-75).
Playing as an individual, Jenny Sritragul is tied for 47th with a 156 (79-77).
The third and final round of the Mason Rudolph Championship is set for Sunday at 8:30 a.m. ET; live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
