EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team completed the final day of hosting the Auto-Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational on Sunday. MSU completed in one victory and suffered five losses on day three. The Spartans' Marina Bohrer placed second in the Draw A Singles.

In the Draw A Doubles matches, Bohrer and Catherine Parenteau faced Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum and Caludia Escribens of Purdue. Purdue came out on top, 9-8 (5). Emily Meyers and Nicole Herzog moved up to the Draw A Doubles as they faced Kally Alkire and Alex Brinker from Xavier University. Meyers and Herzog fell in their final match of the Invitational, 8-1. Spartans Katarina Lingl and Julianne Gruber suffered a loss Christine Guerrazzi and Christina Raymond from Miami (Ohio), 8-2.
Michigan State saw action in the Draw A Singles matches with Bohrer competing against Bernard-Feigenbaum of Purdue. Bohrer placed second after a tough loss to Purdue, 6-4, 6-3.
In Draw C Singles, Gruber defeated Ali Dawson of Marquette, 7-6 (14), 7-6 (3).
Meyers represented MSU in Draw D Singles in a close match facing Courtney Earnest of Ball State, 6-4, 5-7 (10-1).
Selected Spartans will travel to ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Oct. 18-23.
