Christine Meier Wins Michigan Women's Amateur

HIGHLAND, Mich. - Christine Meier, who will be a sophomore this upcoming season for the Spartans, won the 2011 Michigan Women's Amateur on Friday by defeating Meagan Bauer of Michigan 1 up in the finals. The 95th annual event was held at the Prestwick Village Golf Club.
Meier reached the semifinals in match play at the 2009 tournament and finished runner-up last year to former Spartan Natalie Brehm.
Meier reached the finals after beating Sarah Johnson of Eastern Michigan in the semifinals, 2-and-1.
