Michigan State enters the matchup with a 4-2-1 overall record. The Spartans began last weekend with a double-overtime scoreless draw with DePaul on Friday afternoon, before toppling Loyola Chicago 4-0 on Sunday.
Jill Flietstra was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after tallying back-to-back shutouts last weekend. The junior's fifth shutout of the season and 13th overall, ties her for fourth all-time in the Spartan record books and eighth in career wins. The junior keeper is also heading the Big Ten in saves at 33 after stopping two shots from DePaul and six from Loyola Chicago.
Laura Heyboer and Olivia Stander are atop the scoring chart with four goals each. Megan Pines leads in assists with three, while Heyboer and Annie Steinlage own two each. Flietstra has shut out five of seven opponents, and posts a .82 GAA and .856 save percentage.
