Women's Tennis Finishes Fall Play

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team competed in its last day of fall play today (Oct. 24). Senior Whitney Wilson and freshman Marina Bohrer represented MSU at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regionals which ended for them yesterday. The Spartan representatives at the ITA Second Chance Tournament, hosted by Western Michigan, completed the day with one singles win.
Sophomore Michaela Silesova tallied the only singles win on the day when she downed April Kerr of Western Michigan, 6-3, 7-6 (2). It was Silesova's second win on the weekend. In singles draw action, freshman Katarina Lingl was defeated by Gillian Hush (MU), 7-6, 6-0. Lingl completed the weekend with one singles victory and two double wins alongside partner red shirt sophomore Dana Guentert.
The Spartans do not return to action until spring play which will kick off at home on Jan. 23, 2011 when MSU welcomes IPFW and Detroit.
