Freshmen Delvon Roe and Korie Lucious each scored a career-high as Roe poured in 16 points while Lucious scored 12. Roe's previous best was 14 against Michigan (2/10/09) while Lucious' was 7 vs. Idaho (11/16/08). Lucious' four three-pointers were also a career high.
MSU out-rebounded Iowa, 33-19. The +14 margin eclipses their average rebounding margin of +10.0 which was second in the nation as of Feb. 23.
The Spartans improved to 5-2 with Kalin Lucas, Travis Walton, Durrell Summers, Delvon Roe and Goran Suton as the starting five.
Michigan State now leads the all-time series with Iowa, 60-52, overall and, 39-17, in East Lansing. Tom Izzo is now 18-8 vs. the Hawkeyes and 2-2 against Todd Lickliter. The Spartans have won 17 of the last 24 meetings.
The Spartan bench combined to score 30 points tonight which is their most since scoring 42 against Indiana on Feb. 7.
