Down 41-29 with 12:31 remaining, Michigan State closed the game on a 32-9 run to claim the 61-50 victory over Wisconsin.
With the scored tied at 47 with 3:43 left, Michigan State made its final five field goals of the game in the 14-3 run. Kalin Lucas hit three field goals during that stretch, including a 3-pointer, while Chris Allen also hit a 3-pointer and Goran Suton hit a jumper.
Michigan State has now won four straight over Wisconsin at the Breslin Center.
Kalin Lucas led all scorers with 17 points - he scored seven of MSU's final 14 points and was 3-of-3 from the field in the final four minutes of the game. It marks Lucas' 23rd game scoring in double-figures this season, and his 17th in a row. Lucas has led the Spartans in scoring in nine games this season.
Goran Suton recorded his fourth double-double of the season and the 17th of his career with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four of his rebounds came on the offensive end. It's his first double-double since scoring 15 points and grabbing 14 rebounds vs. Northwestern on Jan. 21.
MSU held a 32-16 advantage for points in the paint.
MSU outrebounded Wisconsin, 37-25, including a 13-8 edge on the offensive end. The Spartans are 19-4 when outrebounding their opponent this season.
MSU has held its opponent to 50 points or less in four of the last five games.
MSU's bench outscored the Badgers, 29-11.
The Spartans held Wisconsin to 31.3 percent (15-for-48) shooting from the field. It tied a season low for the Badgers, who also shot 15-for-48 against Iona on Nov. 21.
Tom Herzog made his first career start and scored MSU's first basket of the game. Herzog played the first three minutes.
Travis Walton tied a season high with six assists (Penn State, Jan. 14). He also tied a career high with four steals (fifth time, last vs. Minnesota, Feb. 4).
MSU improves to 9-1 in day games this season (only loss vs. Penn State, Feb. 1).
