Women's Tennis Ends Play at the ITA's

EVANSTON, Ill. - Michigan State women's tennis ended their play at the ITA Midwest Regional on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Northwestern University. Junior Whitney Wilson (Evansville, Ind.) fell in the first found of the singles main draw.
Wilson came out strong, but fell to Katarina Millinkovic of DePaul, 7-5, 7-6(5). Wilson was the only Spartan to qualify for the singles main draw.
Wilson then partnered with Amy Barton (Brisbane, Australia) to go against McKnight and Millinkovic of DePaul, falling 8-4.
Sophomore Elena Ivanova (Moscow, Russia) and freshman Nicole Herzog (Manillia, Brazil) teamed to defeat Velkova and Welch of Youngstown State, 8-4, but fell in the second round to Murray and Lee of Northwestern, 8-0.
The Spartans will next travel to West Lafayette, Ind. where they will compete at the Purdue Invite, Friday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 8.
