EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State junior forward Goran Suton was named the Big Ten Men's Basketball Player of the Week on March 3, after averaging 15.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in a pair of games against ranked opponents. It is the first weekly league honor of Suton's career. He becomes the third different Spartan to be recognized this season, joining Raymar Morgan (Nov. 19, Jan. 7) and Drew Neitzel (Jan. 28).
Against No. 10 Wisconsin, Suton led the Spartans with 14 points and 15 rebounds. The 15 rebounds were a personal best against a Big Ten opponent. In a win over No. 12 Indiana, Suton hit 6-of-7 shots, including his first collegiate 3-pointer, scoring 17 points and adding nine rebounds and a career-high tying four steals. The 17 points equalled his season high and were a personal best against a Big Ten opponent. For the week, Suton shot .706 from the field, knocking down 12-of-17 shots.
For the year, Suton averages 8.8 points and 8.1 rebounds, ranking second in the Big Ten in rebounding. He ranks second on the team in both steals (31) and blocks (29).
