BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Michigan State women's soccer team dropped its second-consecutive game on Friday (Oct. 24) night, falling 1-0 to the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington. The loss drops the Spartans to 13-5 and 5-4 in conference play while IU moves to 7-10-1 and 2-6-1 in the conference.
Neither team was able to generate much offense in the match, as both the Spartans and Hoosiers managed just five shots each.
Indiana's Leigh Anne Cummings scored the only goal of the match in the 50th minute when she took a long pass from Devon Beach and slipped pass the Spartan defense to score.
The Spartans will put their perfect 5-0 non-conference record to the test Sunday at DeMartin Stadium when they look to get back on track against South Dakota State at noon. The eight Spartan seniors will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
