TEAM NOTES
-- MSU's win over Michigan was the program's 250th victory in the Breslin Center. The Spartans are 250-37 (.871) all-time in the Breslin Center, including a 126-27 mark against Big Ten opponents.
-- Michigan State shot 58.5 percent from the field, the team's third-highest shooting percentage of the season. MSU shot 61 percent against Purdue and 60.4 percent at Northwestern.
-- Michigan State is now 18-2, tying the 2000-01 Spartans for the best 20-game start in school history.
-- The Spartans recorded 25 assists on 31 field goals, an 80.6 percent rate. MSU has assisted on 68.8 percent (379-of-551) of its field goals this season.
-- Michigan State has now won seven of the last nine and 15 of the last 18 meetings against Michigan. Of those 15 wins, 13 have been by a double-figure margin.
-- The Spartans shot 16-of-22 (72.7 percent) in the second half, while Michigan shot 13-of-37 (35.1 percent).
-- MSU, which leads the Big Ten in rebounding margin at +9.6, is now 17-1 when outrebounding its opponent.
PLAYER NOTES
-- Senior guard Drew Neitzel continued his hot shooting, shooting 7-of-13 from the field with four 3-pointers en route to an 18-point effort. Over the past four games, Neitzel is averaging 17.5 points and 18-of-26 (50 percent) from 3-point range. Neitzel also had seven assists, and now has 96 assists against 28 turnovers. The senior guard also surpassed the 1,300-point plateau, becoming the 19th player in Spartan history to score 1,300 points.
-- Freshman guard Kalin Lucas tied his career high with 18 points, matching his effort against Texas on Dec. 22. Lucas also went 6-of-6 at the free throw line, setting career highs in free throws made and attempted.
-- Junior guard Travis Walton handed out eight assists, his third-highest total of the season. Walton is averaging 6.7 assists over the past three games.
-- Senior center Drew Naymick blocked two shots, extending his own school career blocks record to 107. He has registered at least one blocked shot in 15 straight games, with eight multi-block games included in that span.
-- Freshman guard Chris Allen is shooting 8-of-15 (53.3 percent) from 3-point range over the past four games.
-- Junior post player Goran Suton scored seven points, grabbed seven rebounds and totaled three assists. He now has 13 games this season with at least seven rebounds, and he has recorded at least three assists in the last four games.
