Women's Golf Places Third At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Michigan State's women's golf team finished action at the Landfall Tradition Sunday, shooting a 301 for a three-day total of 891, good for third place. Sophomore Laura Kueny tied for second place with Purdue's Maria Hernandez, finishing the course two over par (75-69-74--218).
Sara Brown led MSU's squad with nine birdies through three rounds. Brown shot a team-low 73 in the final day and tied for eighth place at five over par (72-76-73--221). Aimee Neff wrapped up the last 18 holes carding a 76 to finish tied for 16th at 225 (75-74-76).
Jordyn Wells and Michelle Bowles finished tied for 38th and 46th, respectively. Wells finished at 235, and Bowles carded a 238.
In full tournament coverage, Wake Forest captured the women's title, and only two women broke par in the final round. Penn State's Christin Pacacha fired a 2-under 70 and Purdue's Junthima Gulyanamitta shot a 1-under 71.
The Spartans will continue fall tournament action Nov. 4-6 at the Hooters Match Play Championship in Orlando, Fla.
