Women's Golf Improves To Third At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Spartan women's golf shot a 291, eight strokes less than yesterday's total, to jump into third place at the Landfall Tradition Saturday. Sophomore Laura Kueny shot a team-low 69 as she finishes day two tied for fourth to lead the Spartans on the individual leaderboard. Wake Forest pushed into the lead in the women's competition after the second day of the Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall's Jack Nicklaus course. Kueny, who carded a 75 the first day, tallied three birdies in round two for a combined score of 144. Sara Brown dropped to tied for 13th shooting a 76 today (72-76--148), including two birdies, while Aimee Neff shaved off a stroke from yesterday's score and ties for 15th after 36 holes (75-74--149). Jordyn Wells improved 11 strokes from Friday's score, pacing the Spartans in day-two birdies with four. Wells now sits at tied for 34th and is followed by Michelle Bowles, who finished day two at 51st. Sunday's action will begin at 9:12 a.m.
