Ryan Brehm Places Second At Michigan Amateur Championship

HARBOR SPRINGS, Mich. - Junior men's golfer Ryan Brehm (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) placed second at the 95th Michigan Amateur Championship last Saturday (June 24) on The Heather Course at Boyne Highlands. Brehm fell in the final match 5 and 4 to Greg Davies of West Bloomfield.
Brehm defeated John Barry of Portage 3 and 2 in one of Saturday's semifinal matches.
Fellow junior Brandon Cigna (Novi, Mich.) advanced to the semifinals of the tournament, but also lost to Davies 5 and 4.
Davies had a three-hole lead five holes into the championship match when Brehm three-putted three consecutive greens. Davies increased his lead to five holes at the turn.
Brehm cut Davies' lead to three holes through 11, but Davies closed out the match with wins on holes 13 and 14.
