EAST LANSING, Mich. - For the third consecutive year, Nathan Egger has been named to the Academic All-District IV men's track and field/cross country first team. Egger, who is now eligible for Academic All-America honors, compiled a 3.97 grade-point average in physiology. The Mason, Mich., native received the President's Award - awarded to the top graduating male athlete at MSU - earlier this spring at the annual academic gala. Last year, Egger became just the third Spartan in the men's track and field program to earn Academic All-America honors, as he was named to third team.
In addition to Egger, junior Matt Bartlebaugh (Napoleon, Mich.) garnered second-team honors for his 3.94 GPA in history.
On Thursday, the Big Ten Conference announced seven athletes on the men's track and field team were chosen for Academic All-Conference accolades, including Egger and Bartlebaugh. Jake Kloss, Phil Marlatt, Nick Oertel, Derek Strittmatter and Kyle Sweeney also made the team.
