
Academic Accolades Pile Up For Michigan State Cross Country

"It speaks to the character of the girls on this team," said head coach Rita Arndt-Molis. "They have all worked very hard this year and remain responsible and accountable for their actions in cross country, the classroom and the community."
Rafferty carries a 3.791 GPA, in English, to rank 21st nationally among all student-athletes who compete in Division I cross country, and 6th among Great Lakes Region competitors.
"Michelle is an extraordinary person," said Arndt-Molis. "She has been a top-athlete and a top-student ever since she's been here. She has grown into a well-rounded example of what we look for in the individuals we recruit."
Senakiewich, also an English major, sports a 3.628 GPA, placing herself 39th nationally and ninth in the Great Lakes Region.
"Lisa has become a terrific leader for our team," said Arndt-Molis. "She is a great example for our athletes on and off the race course."
