MSU won its fifth straight game over Northwestern and second in a row in Evanston.
Liz Shimek passed the 1,600-point total for her career...she scored 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting, and how has 1,612 for her career, which is third all-time at Michigan State...she has scored at least 20 points in nine games this season.
Victoria Lucas-Perry scored a season-high 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting...she hit a career high four 3-pointers...her career high came last year against Northwestern, when she scored 25 points.
Rene Haynes scored in double-digits for the second straight game, pouring in 11 with six assists.
Lindsay Bowen had a good all-around game, scoring seven points with six rebounds, five assists and four steals.
MSU shot 52.3 percent (34-for-65) for the game, and 56.3 percent (18-for-32) in the second half ...the 34 field goals tied for the second most this season.
Northwestern only attempted 48 shots, a season low for a Spartan opponent.
