Spartans Push Past Matadors In OT

LOS ANGELES (AP) -Mia Johnson had 19 points, six rebounds and four assists, and No. 20 Michigan State survived Cal State Northridge's upset bid 73-69 in overtime Friday.
Rene Haynes scored 16 points, and Allyssa DeHaan had 12 points, 18 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Spartans (9-2), who overcame 24 turnovers to earn the victory. Victoria Lucas-Perry added 11 points and three steals.
Ofa Tulikihihifo had 23 points and eight rebounds for Northridge (3-9). Jamie McCaa added 21 points, four assists and three steals, while LaJoyce King had 13 rebounds and five assists for the Matadors.
McCaa's 3-pointer with 44 seconds left in the game forced the 5-minute overtime. The Matadors shot 1-for-8 in overtime while the Spartans went 3-of-6.
Michigan State shot 16-of-18 from the foul line, while Northridge went 7-of-10. The Spartans were 27-of-62 from the floor, including 3-of-10 from 3-point range. The Matadors were 27-of-78, including 8-of-30 from beyond the arc.
